Villon Aquatint Description

This original print by French artist Jacques Villon (1875-1963) after Marcel Gromaire (1892-1971) is an unframed colour aquatint from 1928 titled La Femme au Piano (the woman at the piano)

It is hand signed and numbered (193/200) in pencil by Gromaire in the lower right margin.  In the lower left margin, in another hand, is noted in pencil Gravé par J. Villon (Engraved by Jacque Villon).

Sheet size:  24 3/4 ” x 19 3/4”
platemark size:  18 3/4” x 15 1/4”
Condition:  Very good for being almost 100 years old.  The sheet has some age related toning and light stain evident as one can see where a mat once was.  The two upper sheet corners have pieces of paper tape and the bottom sheet edge has a very small bit of water damage.  It could benefit from a cleaning but is by no means necessary.
