Stauffer Lithograph Description

This original print by Swiss artist Fred Stauffer (1892-1980) is an unframed colour lithograph from 1957 titled “Summer in the Valois”.  It is a rural scene of a woman and a goat on a pathway.
It is pencil signed, titled and dated in the lower margin.  It is printed on smooth wove paper with an Arches watermark.

 

Lithograph Dimensions and Condition Details

Sheet size:  19 1/2” x 15 1/2”
Image size:  18 1/4” x 14 1/2”
Condition:  Fair to good.  The sheet exhibits overall toning and there is a darker line of foxing at the extreme right sheet edge.  We would suggest a cleaning, but a less expensive fix would be a good mat job.
