Salt Shaker Description and Makers

This rare Early American Pressed Glass salt shaker is made in frosted pressed glass. The pattern is Hand and Fishscale from around 1890. The maker is Central Glass Co. which started in Wheeling, West Virginia. 

The pewter lid (which is removable) is unique with star patterned holes for dispensing the salt. We think it is original to the production date which is thought to be in the last decade of the 19th century.

Base Width:  1 3/4”
Condition:  The shaker and the lid are in very good condition with only minor wear of the frosted glass surface.
