Martin Barooshian Etching Description

This original print by American artist Martin Barooshian (b. 1929) is an etching and soft ground print that is hand signed in pencil by the artist.  It is also similarly dated 1951 in the lower right margin and titled Peter & the Wolf in the lower left margin.

 

The print is based on Peter and the Wolf, a symphonic fairy tale for children that was a musical composition written by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936.

Etching Dimensions and Condition Details

Sheet size:  9" x 11 1/4"
Image size:  6" x 8 7/8"
Condition:  Very good.  There are some fingerprints in the margins and on the back of the sheet, probably from the artist during the printmaking process.  The letters MB are also printed in pencil on the lower left sheet corner.  All of this will easily mat away.
