Antique Pressed Glass Wine | Dominion Pattern | Burlington Glass
Antique Pressed Glass Wine | Dominion Pattern | Burlington Glass
Wine Description and Makers
This Early American Pattern Glass wine is clear pressed glass. The pattern is Dominion also known as Mascotte, Minor Block, and Etched Fern and Waffle.
This glass has in addition to the main pattern an elaborate engraved etched leaf pattern around the top area of the vessel.
We believe, it was made by Burlington Glass Works, or Dominion Glass both in Ontario, Canada.
The general pattern was made by many makers, such as Ripley & Company, PA in 1884, but without the etched top.
Burlington Glass in Ontario, Canada, is referenced to having made this for this version of the pattern with etching in 1890. Shards have been found at the Burlington factory site.
It was later made by Dominion Glass Company, Ontario, Canada in 1902, and thus the pattern name is also referred to as Dominion.
