Cordial Description and Makers
This Early American Pattern Glass cordial is clear pressed glass. The pattern is Mascotte, also known as Dominion, Minor Block, and Etched Fern and Waffle.
This glass has in addition to the main pattern an elaborate engraved etched leaf pattern around the top area of the glass body.
It was made by Ripley & Company, Pennsylvania, in 1884. It was later made by Dominion Glass Co. in Ontario, Canada in 1902, and thus the pattern name is also referred to as Dominion. It has also been attributed to Burlington Glass Works, Ontario, Canada as shards have been found at the factory site.
