This is a Drake Character Jug in large size by Royal Doulton China. These pieces are also sometimes referred to as a Toby or Toby Mug.

Drake Name Origin

This character is based on the English navigator and admiral Sir Francis Drake (1540-1596) who lived during the reign of Queen Elizabeth I. Drake was pivotal in warding off the Spanish Armada invasion of England, and he was the first Englishman to sail around the world.
